About me

Making numbers meaningful -

For three decades

I am an Applied Economist and Statistician based in Melbourne.

For more than 30 years my work has centred on one thing: Turning data into clear decisions, and complex quantitative subject into confident learning.

My career began in industry. As a consultant with SOFRES (Price Waterhouse) in Mauritius, I delivered market research and economic analysis for clients including Barclays Bank and Mauritius Telecom. I went on to analyse the primary care portfolio for AstraZeneca, lead product, market and pricing analysis at Telkom Directory Services, and serve as Statistician for Uthingo, South Africa's national lottery operator, where I built the statistical models behind sales forecasting and distribution strategy.

Since 2005 I have lectured and coordinated units in economics, statistics, quantitative methods and data analytics at Australian universities and higher education providers. Alongside teaching, I provide statistical and economic analysis for non-profit clients through Statistics Without Borders and Pro Bono Economics, and tutor secondary and university students online.

I am completing a PhD in Economics at Western Sydney University, with research on fiscal policy effectiveness.
